Strange Days on Planet Earth
Part 4
Over 70% of the earth's atmosphere is covered by water. The animal in the ocean are migrating at the same rate as the animals on the land. The ocean scientists are trying to capture a type of plankton so they use a black net so they will not see it coming after them.. Some of the oceans may die out because of the heat on the earth. Scientists discovered that the crabs heart beat stops when there is 2 degrees in the water change. In Trinidad, the lady explains that while growing up not many kids had asthma ,but now they all do and she does not understand why, also there were two other disease. Lake Chad in Nigeria had great waters but it is now all dried. Lake Chad once produced many fish, Nigeria has built a lab to examine them. The people believe that the dust on the Sahara desert at been causing children to have asthma. As earths climate change occurs dust from the Sahara is blowing to the Caribbean and the Americas. If enough people began to conserve their energy, it will make a big impact on the earth.

Part 5
In Caroni Valley, Venezuela there has been numerous amounts of floods. Some people are going around the world, trying to capture animals and rescue them. In lake Guri many of it is man made.Before the flood in lake Guri, it was made of plants, and it was a home to animals,today it is strangely quiet. On the Iquana Island the scientist are trying to find any destruction that may have been caused to the animals and the land or what may have caused a flood. Herbivores and other animal predators are spreading diseases and are spreading lime disease and rabies. The fore they have to execute many species. The Yellowstone National Park is the worlds first national park and it is still around today. The vegetation there has been decreasing there so the animals are not going to be able to survive living there anymore:(. While the scientist were looking through the park the realized that it is not Global warming who is killing Aspen so they look to wild fire. The Aspen has stopped regenerating since the 1920's. They found out that the wolfs are going instinct and that is why the forest is dieing out because they mean a lot.
Today the coal reefs are dieing out. Only the top of the reef is alive, people are looking at the coral reef trying to find clues.In a near by fish market, a man is trying to find clues of why the Coral reef has collapsed. The disappearance of the large fish is unusual to them but not to the others in Jamaica. 90% of the large fish, over the years have gone missing. We have been over fishing the sea, taking away the large fish and also their prey. If we have no fish then we have no ecosystem. They have had to work harder to capture large fish. The people are wondering if their plan will work and if the larger fish will return. The team has been trying to find signs of recovery but they are hare to find. Smaller prey are returning and fishermen are starting to catch the larger fish again. The return of the fish are welcomed by the scientists and fishermen.


Part 6
The scientists are researching water animals. They have been looking around and it appears that water is cleaner than it has been in many generations. 20 different types of frog species has vanished. Some male leopard frogs has eggs growing inside their intentions. They believe that the water is causing the deformation of the frogs. The deformed frogs they find are coming from water with atrazine, but the frogs that are healthy come from clean water. Being in water with atrazine may cause the male frog to grow ovaries, grow eggs and become a female organism ,it is a threat to this species. These water problems may cause trouble with this species. There are many reasons the water is not clean, two of them are pollution and contamination. Some scientists have been taking tissue samples out of dead beluga whales and found out that they are non-useful and are very contaminated. When you mix chemicals together, they may become toxic so in a whales body it may be a risk of cancer.

We are going ahead on global warming than any other human has ever experienced. Did you know that there are frogs that are both man and female at the same time? Some people are searching the oceans to see if any new species have arrived, every year a new type has arrived. Living things continue to test the binderies of their entrance. In New Orleans people cannot trust the floor boards beneath their feet. Aliens have been causing destruction to homes. Insects are small but they can become a large number of destruction. The aliens are now hidden in the walls, starting to build new Collins. New Orleans are built with termite food, wood. It isn't if you are going to get termites, it is when are you going to get termites.They keep finding a way of rebounding and to re nest. The termites groom each other, they communicate by making trails and they have instant massaging by vibrating their body's.

PART 2
Each ship arriving to its country might have termites on it and invade our country. Because of us Earth itself will be its own content.
By burning common fuels we have raised the earths temperature 1 degree every year, now the region is warming. In theory 2/3 of mammals have become enstint. Now its different, the climate is changing so fast that the elderly are worried that the animals will not adapt and vanish or leave. Warmer days means a lager amount of blood sucking mosquitoes which is a danger to caraboo. When the ice forms underneath the snow, it makes it harder for caraboo to find food, and when they walk on it .When the caraboo are gone it may impoverish man-kind.
if bad weather days keep on coming then the caraboo may not survive.

Climate change on glacier greatly affected the hiking and had to add steps to clime down.
A lot of hurricanes because of high temperatures
Global Warming may cause storms because of water vapor in the air. Green house gases very high may not be deducted. In 9 months people could rebuild oil rigs, but a lot of people are homeless because of all the money used on oil rigs.
There is too much oil being used on material and other things. Because of oil and its sources it feeds 2 billion people. Shell started a medical center in West Africa and never finished it. Because of the oil spill in Nigeria, Africa, fishing is very hard, the oil spill killed a lot of fish. People in Nigeria get paid less than $1 a day. Water is not clean, it causes people to get sick. Produce 1 thousands barrels of oil. The oil company burn out the oil because it can’t be transported, because it is flammable, instead they just burn it and makes carbon. It affects the people because they are breathing it in and it causes of a lot illness that affect the lungs. Military arrived and burnt down a building and people had to rush into the forest for protection, but a lot of children died because they had no food and clean water to live off of. The cause of war is because of all the oil in Iraq. Wind Farms are good for the environment but protestors do not like them because they block the view. People in France are using bicycles to prevent trucks on the roads.
. Things that may happen in the feature: New Orleans might have more hurricanes and that Global Warming and the heat may cause all of the forests to burn down.
Most people think that Global Warming will get more DANGEROUS for everyone. People in the feature will blame us for not protecting our earth.

Coral reef

A coral reef is a living thing also an animal. Coral reefs can be found in many different oceans, such as Fiji and other oceans around the world. The coral reefs are in danger in many ways. Some things that are harming the coral reefs are ocean warming, people are over fishing, and salutations. When the coal reefs were being cut down the rivers that was surrounding the forest, turned all muddy. Also the coral reefs are drying out and turning white, therefore they will not be beneficial anymore. To prevent the destruction of the coral reefs, we could stop over fishing the oceans. The coral reefs are beneficial to the Earth because the feed the humans and the oceans creatures and they protect all tropical coasts.

The coral reefs need all fish so that they will not die from starvation. The reef is home to many fishes and other creatures. In the ocean, there is a lot if partnership with the creatures. They produce limestone and they were built by tiny creatures.Algae is also important to coral reefs. There are a lot of undiscovered creatures in the ocean that have not yet been discovered.

I thought of some ideas about telling everyone about this situation. We could make posters,videos(put them on a website),and we could travel around and make speeches.Also we could come up with a group to make a change..!!

Planet Earth:The Feature Saving Species

Saving Species Of Planet Earth

Today in class we have learned that,some species of planet Earth are endangered! The Icecaps are getting thinner and thinner by the day.At one point in the North Pole during the winter the whole ocean became frozen so the polar bears were able to walk across it.The polar bears in the Arctic are becoming endangered because of lack of food. The polar bears are behaving like never before. It was very rare to see the polar bears hunting for walrus. In about 50 years from now all of the Arctic will be gone, we might loose 35% of the icecaps. Species after species are becoming instinct. We need every species the we have on planet Earth to keep it going. Most of the animals are becoming endangered because the humans would kill many different animals for meat and fur. They would mainly chose the elephant because of its ivory from their tusks. The golden frog has already become instinct. The Amur leopard is becoming instinct, there are only 30 left in the world.
There is a special place that takes care of animals ,they have the eggs from different types of animals so that when the animals become instinct they cane reproduce them. This business we have limited resources, and they state that if we save one species you basically save them all.!

The two topics that I choose and am most interested in are going to be Smoking and Global Warming.


Smoking


-The reason I choose smoking is because it is something that young children should not try out. There are many different types of drugs that is used for smoking such as...tobacco,cannabis,and opium,but tobacco is the most popular. A way for smoking is by using pipes, cigars, hookahs, rolling paper,etc..Some causes from smoking tobacco are lung cancer, heart attacks erectile dysfunction,and also can lead to birth defects.

Some of the thoughts that I have about the documentary is that this man is doing a great think for the earth!He has been traveling all around the world explaining to people that they are the one who is causing global warming,and that the Earth and all people is in danger because of the choices they make. I think that Global warming is a bad because its causing problems to happen to the Earth. One example of global warming is... the polar caps are melting because of the heat from global warming and melting ice caps will cause the sea levels to rise(this caused all the hurricanes).
The information that I have heard so far has made me feel a little scared because what if a hurricane hits Austin or if no one tries to make a difference and global warming gets worse! I think that if the whole entire world knew about global warming the people would want to come together and try to make a huge difference in the world. To prevent ultimate destruction we could choose to make better decisions in life. We could go clean up a lake, park, anything to make the world a better place..!!

The reason that I picked this picture is because i thought it was very interesting but,I'm not to sure about what it is . To me it looks like someone is shining a pink and purple light into space with the stars surrounding it. This picture caught my eye because pink and purple are my favorite colors. This picture is very interesting and i would like to learn more about it.

In technology class our team has made alot of progress in the past 6 weeks. We have made progress because in the begening we did not know alot of things that we know now! We learned things such as adding navigation, working in flash and best of all, learning how to desing our own game (that part was aswome!!)When I say adding navigation i mean like drawing in flash, making a moving picture and Our game is Mrs.Miller is the best technology teacher ever!!!

Globaloria

Hi my name is Brittanie and I want to tell you a little about my class (globaloria). In globaloria you do things like work in flash,make paper proto-types,miny games and much more. One thing that like about globaloria is that we are able to make our own games, we can be creative and come up with our own ideas in flash. We work in teams to come up with our personal game. The name of my team is called Earth Savers23 our game is about us trying to save the rain forest. There are 3 levels and each one has a different type of animal. I think that globaloria is a fun way for kids to learn how to start off making a game and learning how to finish it. The thing that I don't like about globaloria is that when we work in flash I sometimes mess up on one thing and mess up om everything then I get behind and don't be able to catch up in time that is the hard thing. Globaloria is fun and also hard but that is only my opinion but you may think something else of it! HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!!!!

Blog Assignment

YES!!Working in flash is a little bit hard.Whats hard about globaloria was that when the class would make the game or the scenes it would be hard for me to catch up because either the thing I did messed me up and I had to start all over or I would have to go back and change what I messed up and I would not be able to catch up in time, I would get very angry and fustrated and I would just want to QUIT but I would still try.It is also fun because when you get you character or what ever you are working or moveing the way it should, then I would be happy that it worked out the way it was ment.Sometimes working in flash can be fun to me because making your own game can be fustrating but also fun too.When I make my own game I think of putting as many details in there as I can.When the game works outand you here that people likes it you get happy and excited and want to try it out your self. I think the working in flash in both hard and fun!

Blog Assignment

When it comes to programming in flash, it has been a little hard for me to sometimes add the flash file to my wiki page. I do not know why this is but I have been trying to figure it out. I was thinking that it is because I did not put in the right code, I did not copy the file right, or maybe my flash on the wiki is all unorganized and I need to get that fixed. I also think that Mrs.Miller could make it possible to go over how to upload the files and how to save the file before we start the lesson so maybe the class could understand it better, but she has already explained how to do these things. I think that it is important to remember the coding because there is many ways you can mess up like, if you did not copy the correct coding then the file that you uploaded may not come out the way that you wanted to or it might not come out at all or you may mess up the coding and have to start all over until you get it right. Sometimes I think that flash is hard when I do not understand something, the way that I will become an expert is by looking at the flash videos and studying them or I can ask my teacher if she can explain the expiation's to me and I will try to come with my own flash game and I will try to learn from there. On some days if there is distraction in the classroom then I will not really be able to concentrate on what I have to be doing or I may not be able to here Mrs.Miller giving instruction , so it does not help me learn better in flash.
I said yes it does distract me, and I think that this can be changed by, when they talk, yell, or try to distract others I think that Mrs.Miller should send them to the office admittedly if they choose to do it more than once. I do think that the video tutorials that flash makes for us to watch is helpful because when you watch them they make it clear to understand. Some ways that I can help myself better understand flash is by paying close attention to the videos that we watch and taking notes to study them. I think that flash is a fun activity to do and I think that it is very creative, and it might help me in the feature because I like to draw and maybe one day I will like to design games.

DRAWING IN FLASH

My learning experience in flash is was a little bit hard because I had never heard of it when I had first came to this school,but I have learned a lot in the past time that I have been here.So far I learned how to draw in flash how to make a miny game also how to create a paper Porto- type.The subject in my game is saving the environment I will have three levels in my game and in level 1 there will be a lemur trying to save the rain forest from deforestation,in level 2 there will be a sea turtle trying to save the ocean from littering people, and in level 3 there will be a polar bear trying to save the Arctic from being polluted.There is not anything that I have learned since the last blog assignment.

Working with my team mates was kind of okay,but we worked as a group .Making a paper-prototype was fun but my team did not do a great job so Mrs.miller let the whole group re-present it, after we was able to represent it we received a much better grade.I do feel that having more time to work on our game was more understandable to the concept of our game.Some of the frustrations in our game was that we had a hard time finding good questions for our game concept, but in the end we was able to and our game came out a lot better.

PAPER PROTOTYPE

In paper prototype I thought that it is creative and a intersting way to make you own game.I did have fun working on this game.The diffucult things about paper prototype that my team and I had was we had a little bit of trouble being able to include math into our game .I do understand the importance of the paper prototyping in reference to my game and it was easy to draw the game, but our game was to long and it did not have any math what so ever in it so that was the hard part in paperprototyping.

To work as a team for the first time in technology was a little fun but sime people in my group was not participating,they would want to be on the computer playing games or go talk to other groups and it was hard to get them to be fully parcipating in the group.The thnings that I like about my team was that we would sometimes get along and the things that I did not like was when we would not get along and argue.I think that we will progress by for the remainder of the year by working harder on things and every one getting along so we could work as a team and get things done.

MINY GAME

Last week we worked on our Mini game in flash.My learning experience in working on flash has been fun and I have been learning lots of new things about how you use flash and how it works.The think in flash is if you mess up on 1 thing then you will mess up on everything and you might have to start over if you don't pay attention.It was a little hard to make my Mini game because you sometimes mess up on something and then you will get very frustrated because you can may not know what the problem was or you may not be able to fix the problem because that happened to me before and I had to start all over.The best part of flash is that it is fun to work with and when we will get our bunny's or carrots moving we would be all excited.When we had to start all over with flash and when we have to copy and past the codes.I do play games at home and in my free time.My favorite game is called kawairun.I like to play this game because it is fun and I like it.

HOW I FEEL ABOUT FLASH

So far in technology class we have been working on flash,and today I will be writing about what I think of flash and how I feel about it.I feel that flash is very good process to use and I think that it is a fun experience to be able to make a Minny game.My class and I had made our Minny game using a carrot,a wolf,a pizza,and a bunny rabbit.We started with putting the carrot in a frame and tried to make it move,then we had to put the bunny symbol on there to.Sometimes flash is a little hard because I have a hard time hearing Mrs.Miller when she is talking.Sometimes people get behind and when they get behind its very hard to catch up.So in flash you must keep up or it will be really hard.I feel that flash is intersting and it is a creative process to use.

MY GAME CONCEPT

My game idea will be about saving the rain forest.In my game there will be three levels , and each level will be about saving the trees , the monkeys and saving the monkey homes.In each level you will have to answer questions and if you get a question write you will save 1 tree 1 monkey and 1 monkey home .I think that others should play my game once it is completed because I think it will be a lot of fun to play and I think that people will learn a lot.I want people to learn that cutting down trees is bad for our environment because we need the oxygen to be able to breath.I chose this topic because I think that it is important to keep the rain forest safe.
